What is Spiritual Abuse? What is it not? What is our posture toward developing a trustworthy and spiritually healthy community at VOX?
These are some of the questions that we will be responding to this weekend. In our experience, we've sat with and met many folks in our community that have experienced this issue. Our desire is to create a space where these tragedies can be processed, affirmed, or resolved. Our hope this weekend is to bring some orientation and spectrum to how this takes place and to recognize when it has or is occurring. Whether you currently attend VOX Community or not this may be a helpful workshop to sit in on or dialogue with us about as we've found many folks have not even realized they we're succumbed to it's practice.
Some folks have asked us if we record these sessions. We have decided not to record them out of respect for those in the workshops that share vulnerable details about their own experiences. We want to offer a place where these can be shared safely among those who choose to attend under the expectation that we are in a place of care and consideration for each others experiences, and that these vulnerable details can be preserved in their context.
If you would like an additional resource to learn about Spiritual Abuse I will recommend the playlist provided at the link below from the VOX Podcast with Mike Erre where Mike and I have spent hours in dialogue about this issue.
This workshop is this Sunday (2/17) at 11:45AM directly following out morning gathering in PE room across the blacktop at the back of El Dorado High School campus.
